The training program of the Active Seniors Project, an Erasmus+ project co-funded by the European Union, officially began in France with two initial days rich in exchanges and learning, held on April 9 and 10 in Annemasse at the premises of Alpes Secrétariat.
These sessions marked an important milestone for the project, bringing together motivated participants both in person and remotely, thanks to the implementation of appropriate arrangements enabling everyone to follow the training in the best possible conditions.
A first day dedicated to digital skills
The first day began in a friendly atmosphere over coffee and pastries. This welcome moment gave participants the opportunity to get to know each other as well as the trainers, laying the foundations for a warm and engaging environment conducive to exchange.
Before diving into the training content, each participant had the opportunity to introduce themselves and share their professional project.
The day then continued with a module dedicated to IT applied to the field of training, led by Vanessa, with the support of Christophe, who was present throughout the session to facilitate interactions, particularly with remote participants.
On the agenda:
Introduction to essential digital tools (office software, email, video conferencing)
Use of online learning platforms and interactive resources
Awareness of digital security and best practices
Digital support for the development of personal or professional projects
A particular focus was also placed on artificial intelligence and its potential, especially to help participants design, enrich, and organise their future training sessions as coaches and trainers.
A second day focused on pedagogy
The second day was dedicated to formal and informal pedagogical methodologies.
Participants were able to explore:
The foundations of pedagogical methods adapted to adults
Experiential learning and active pedagogy
Group facilitation and knowledge transfer
Adapting training to the specific needs of older adults
This day was also marked by a fun activity featuring a quiz prepared by Vanessa as well as role-playing activities. The quiz winners were pleasantly surprised to receive chocolate as a prize, adding an extra touch of conviviality to the training.
A well-established group dynamic
By the end of these two days, a strong sense of group cohesion had developed. Exchanges were rich, and the atmosphere was very pleasant and supportive. Participants’ feedback was particularly encouraging, both regarding the quality of the content and the relationships that were formed.
In this dynamic, a working group was even created to continue exchanges, share ideas and best practices, and explore potential future collaborations.
Next steps
Participants will soon meet again for the next part of the program:
June 30: Module 3 – Personal Development and Employability
July 1: Module 4 – Entrepreneurship and Civic Engagement
These upcoming sessions will also be delivered in a hybrid format, allowing everyone to participate either in person or remotely.
Are you interested in Modules 3 and 4 and would like to join the training along the way? It is absolutely possible! Feel free to contact us by sending an email to euvb.projects@gmail.com for more information.
This successful launch fully confirms the ambition of the Active Seniors Project: to promote lifelong learning, strengthen skills, and create connections between participants in a spirit of sharing and inclusion.
