The Active Seniors Project, co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, continues to move forward with another important milestone reached.
Over the past few months, the French team has delivered all the training modules planned within the framework of the project. Offered both in person in Annemasse and online in order to enable as many people as possible to take part, these training sessions brought together more than 20 participants from diverse backgrounds, all eager to develop their skills and prepare for their professional future.
This period was also marked by the visit of our Italian partner to Haute-Savoie, France. Over four days of rich exchanges, we combined working meetings, training activities, and local discovery visits in order to strengthen our European cooperation. The programme prepared for this visit remains available on our website : https://www.active-seniors-project.com/welcome-book-haute-savoie.
Training sessions rich in learning and exchange
The four training modules planned for the French component of the project have now been successfully completed:
Module 1 – Thursday, 9 April: Digital Skills for Training
Module 2 – Friday, 10 April: Formal and Informal Teaching Methodologies
Module 3 – Tuesday, 30 June: Personal Development and Employability
Module 4 – Wednesday, 1 July: Entrepreneurship and Civic Engagement
The final two modules brought the training programme to a close by addressing topics that are particularly relevant in today’s context.
Module 3, delivered by Christelle Coutarel, focused on personal development and employability. Participants were introduced to practical tools and strategies to help them identify and showcase their skills while strengthening their confidence in pursuing their professional goals.
Module 4, led by Vanessa Lath, explored entrepreneurship and civic engagement. Through discussions and practical examples, participants discovered different ways to take initiative—whether through business ventures, community organisations, or civic participation—demonstrating that everyone can continue to develop new projects and remain actively engaged, regardless of their background or stage of life.
Each training day began with a welcome breakfast organised by the French partner. Over coffee, tea, pastries, and other refreshments, participants had the opportunity to get to know one another, exchange ideas in an informal setting, and start the day in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere.
The training sessions then continued in a collaborative and welcoming environment that encouraged participants to share experiences, build new connections, and exchange good practices. Feedback was overwhelmingly positive, with participants highlighting the high quality of the training, the richness of the content, and the value of the discussions that took place throughout the programme.
A milestone achieved, the project continues
At the end of the final training module, the French partner awarded Certificates of Participation to all participants. This official ceremony recognised their commitment throughout the training programme and marked the successful completion of this first phase of the Active Seniors Project.

Although this training cycle has now come to an end, the Active Seniors Project continues.
A project meeting is scheduled for July to review the activities carried out so far, assess the results achieved, and define the next steps, which will be implemented from September onwards.
We would like to warmly thank all the participants, the two trainers, our Italian partner, and everyone who contributed to the success of this first phase. Thanks to the commitment of everyone involved, the project continues to promote skills development, inclusion, and support for older adults as they pursue new professional, entrepreneurial, and civic opportunities.
